MSI H55M-E23
$143.39
Released January, 2011
The Pros:Decent price point for a microATX board with these specs. MicroATX form factor, price and integrated HD graphics make this an excellent choice for HTPC builds. Great overclocker for a microATX board--stable, cool, efficient.
The Cons:Only supports up to 8GB of RAM due to having only 2 RAM slots. No overclocking settings to be found in the BIOS--must be done by way of additional software. Horizontal SATA port layout can make installation awkward, especially when using a discrete graphics unit.
The MSI H55M-E23 Motherboard features MSI’s proprietary Active Phase Switching (APS) Technology that minimizes power consumption and noise generation during operation, cooling it as well. It has a universal charging feature for iPod, iPhone and iPad and the board features USB Safeguard, which can protect it from accidental damage resulting from the connection cause by USB connected devices.
