The GA-EP45C-DS3R is an ATX-form motherboard from Gigabyte, using the Intel P45 chipset architecture. The EP45C board can support both DDR2 and DDR3 SDRAM. The board has a built-in Trusted Platform Module chip, a set of software instructions that prevents unauthorized access to both hardware and software systems.

The TPM system encrypts stored data and system information and can only decrypt it when supplied with the correct password. The TPM system is used in conjunction with the BitLocker Drive Encryption utilized in Windows Vista, as well as a number of other software applications (including Digital Rights Management).
