ECS A780GM-A

$80.00 Released August, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Bright colors look pretty cool, great for a transparentcase. Above-average performance from the onboard video, pretty quick, renders HD video well. Documentation is thorough and well-written.

The Cons:Takes a very long time to boot up after the CMOS clears. Onboard audio causes iw3sp errors occasionally with a few games. BIOS tends to read memory timing incorrectly, need to set it manually and trick it into the correct timing.

The A780GM-A is an ATX motherboard produced by Elitegroup Computer Systems, based on the AMD 780G chipset architecture.  There are two versions, the GM-A 1.0 and the GM-A 1.1.  The GM-A 1.1 features onboard power and reset buttons, and comes with an integrated Realtek RTL 8111C Gigabit Fast Ethernet NIC, as opposed to the 1.0, which comes with an integrated ATHEROS L1 Gigabit Fast Ethernet NIC.
