ASUS P5N-E SLI
$130.00
Released March, 2007
The Pros:Good performance to price ratio ($100 cheaper than 680i SLI chipset with similar performance).
The ASUS P5N-E SLI is good-value, high-performance motherboard based on the Nvidia nForce 650i SLI chipset. This 650i is a much cheaper (~$100 less) alternative to the previously released high-end nForce 680i SLI while offering almost the same performance.

This motherboard supports Intel LGA775 processors including the Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Core 2 Quad, and Intel Core 2 Extreme processors.
The P5N-E features a fanless design, while maintaining decent overclocking capabilities. It also has two PCIe x16 slots, one PCIe x 1 slot and two regular PCI slots, supports up to 8 GB of 240 pin DDR2 memory, a gigabit LAN interface, two IEE 1394 ports and up to 8 USB 2.0 ports. The motherboard supports multi-GPU operation because of it SLI support, but board layout may make this awkward.
