Asus M4A785TD-M EVO
$120.00
Released August, 2009
The Pros:Integrated ATI Radeon HD 4200 graphics and microATX form factor make this a good choice for HTPC builds. Very neat, organized layout--lots of room for a larger GPU. Good stock cooling--southbridge and northbridge heatsinks keep everything running cool and stable.
The Cons:Anything newer than an ATI Radeon 4750 will be too powerful for the Hybrid CrossFire to even make a difference. Express Gate instant-on OS needs to be installed on to a hard drive, somewhat defeating its purpose. BIOS isn't as clear-cut and well laid out as most ASUS boards--things are often unintuitively named (OC settings under "JumperFree Configuration").
The Asus M4A785TD-M EVO is a mid-range microATX motherboard similar to the Asus M4A785T-M/CSM. The M4A785TD-M EVO offers only a single improvement over the M4A785T-M/CSM: an eSATA port.
