Asus M2N68 PLUS
$45.00
Released December, 2009
The Pros:Works well with older parts, good compatibility. Setup is pretty simple, doesn't need anything special done in the BIOS. Mounts in a typical tower easily, nice mounting points.
The Cons:Not capable of working with higher-end CPUs, can only supply so much wattage to the slot. No overclocking functions available in the BIOS. Need to be careful of the top corner of the PS2 connector, prone to getting grounded up there depending on the case design.
The Asus M2N68 PLUS is a budget motherboard with support for lower end AM3 CPUs, such as the AMD Sempron 100, Phenom II, and Athlon II. It uses the nVidia nForce 630a non-SLI chipset, meaning it does not have any integrated video, and does not support multiple nVidia GPUs out of the box.

Integrated into the BIOS are Asus EZ Flash, which allows users to upgrade the BIOS without starting an operating system and without a floppy disc and Asus Q-Fan, which auto-adjusts fan speed based on temperature, along with several other environmentally friendly energy-management functions. Unlike most newer motherboards, the M2N68 PLUS still uses DDR2 RAM, albeit the fastest 1066MHz version.
