The Cons:Overclocking software doesn't work with many system configurations. Included sound drivers are glitchy, works better with drivers built into the operating system. Lacks any on-board video support.
The 790X is a high-end chipset in AMD's 7-Series line of chipsets. The 790X comes with AMD's GPU-Plex technology, which allows for the use of multiple graphics adapters on a single PCI-Ex16 slot.

Combined with the use of Hyper-Transport 3.0, PCI-Express 2.0, and ATI's CrossfireX technology, the 790X is designed for use by gamers and those who need graphics-intensive workstations. The 790X chipset also uses AMD OverDrive technology, which allows for alteration of chipset settings from directly within Windows Vista. The 790X also uses Auto Xpress, which automatically optimizes settings to maximize performance from the graphics adapters and the CPU.
