AMD 790X Chipset

Released November, 2007

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Solid build quality, no worries about its durability. Capable of good overclocking without generating much heat or extreme power draw. Support for older connection standards to get a little more use out of old equipment.

The Cons:Overclocking software doesn't work with many system configurations. Included sound drivers are glitchy, works better with drivers built into the operating system. Lacks any on-board video support.

The 790X is a high-end chipset in AMD's 7-Series line of chipsets.  The 790X comes with AMD's GPU-Plex technology, which allows for the use of multiple graphics adapters on a single PCI-Ex16 slot.
