AMD 780G Chipset

Product Shot 1The 780G is a mid-level chipset in AMD's 7-Series line of chipsets.  The 780G chipset comes integrated with the ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics adapter.  A PCI-E 1x16 slot is reserved for an additional graphics card, and it supports ATI Hybrid CrossFire technology.

  As well, 4x1 PCI-E are reserved for slots for other PCI devices.  The 780G is compatible with DDR2 1066 SDRAM.  The socket supports AMD's Athlon64 and Phenom family of processors, as well as the Sempron chip.  The southbridge supports up to 12 USB 2.0 connections and 6 SATA-2 connections, including e-SATA devices.  The 780G supports AMD's Cool n' Quiet 2.0 technology, which allows for energy-efficient processor options and power-saving modes, as well as Hyper Technology 3.0, which doubles (over previous versions) the transmission rate between the processor and the graphics adapter.
